Full Name:
Vector the Crocodile
Age:
19 (born day 90, 3216)
Gender:
Male
Species:
Mobian Nile crocodile
Residence:
Strawberry Fields, Angel Island
Personality:
Vector's quite a guy: he's quick, he's decisive, and is eager to keep an eye on things whenever Knuckles is out someplace else. He is also willing to do some favors for important information or clues, provided it's within his moral range; for instance, hit jobs and sexual favors are out, despite wanting to be with a companion of his own someday.
He is very charming, despite his tendency to snap at people whenever aroused. He has a great sense of humor, cracking wise as a means to ease the tension; he is more then willing to lay down his life for his friends and all of Mobius, and is so generous he will gladly perform tasks for others, free of charge (sometimes to his friends' detriment). He also finds enjoyment in keeping his friends entertained by playing the keyboards or playing soccer.
Vector tends to hold grudges against people who wrong him or his friends, often for long periods of time. He needs a lot of convincing in order to change his perception about someone.
Vec becomes serious when it comes to certain tasks such as interrogation, not letting anything stop him from getting what he wants — sticking to his guns until he gets the information he needs.
Vector is so ashamed of his first years in Downunda he makes a grand effort to whitewash it altogether. His main means of doing so is by disguising his accent; other times, he just shifts the conversation someplace or goes into denial else whenever Downunda is mentioned.
Likes:
Playing soccer; playing pinball; listening to all kinds of music (especially rock, ska and punk); swimming; food of all varieties; making money; bubble gum; the colors black, orange and blue
Dislikes:
The color red; his past experiences in Downunda; cold climate; lack of money; doing anything indecent for money or information; parting with his headphones
Talent and abilities:
Speed. Vector can run with slight bursts of speed, getting a good head start over most others.
Headphones. His headphones may be used to emit a pulsating blast at his enemies, stunning them.
Swimming. Of course, he is a natural (and fast) swimmer, capable of staying underwater ten minutes without the need for an apparatus.
Agility. Vector can weave his way through a variety of landscapes and corridors.
Computer-literate. Vector is computer literate to the point that he is a self-styled "amateur hacker," able to break into a few systems, but not very complex ones (at least, not without a bit of luck to go with it).
Detective skills. His detective skills are top-notch. He is very resourceful and is quick to understand the situation.
Weaknesses:
Combat skills. Despite his speed, Vector's ability to land a hit leaves something to be desired, usually unable to land a serious hit.
Susceptibility to cold temperatures. As a cold-blooded reptile, Vector does not function as well in cold climates, and usually loses concentration after extended exposure.
Pilot of dubious quality. He has difficulty controlling assorted aircraft; while transporting a friend to Angel Island, his craft, the Gyro, crashed.
Lack of upper-body strength. Vector's jaws and legs are all that he has going for him in the strength department; whenever he does land a hit, it barely registers.
Appearance:
Vec is a towering crocodile who makes the others look like mere babies, standing at almost six feet tall. Although slender, he has a rather thick tail, with thin arms and legs, and a long, toothy muzzle rounding out his basic appearance.
He wears a set of headphones, a pair of white gloves, a yellow belt used to holster his music player, and blue shoes with yellow cuffs and drawstrings.
History:
Vector was born in Downunda in 3216. The whereabouts of Vector's parents are unknown. At the age of six, Vector was taken into an orphanage where he, with Barby Koala and Duck "Bill" Platypus, was raised by the mysterious "Father." It is not known what happened between them, but there was a falling-out between Vector and his surrogate family that caused him to leave Downunda, determined to forget he ever did anything there.
Eventually Vector arrived in Angel Island where he lived a more enjoyable life for awhile. Then he met Knuckles the Echidna. They started off by fighting each other, but they soon became friends and began to explore the island together, hoping to come across exciting sights.
Anything Else?
