First order of buisness! What has been your favorite story arc so far? My personal fav has got to be the "Return to Angel Island" Arc! I forget the artists' name, but the guy who was in charge of that story has one of my favorite art styles in the entire comic! A shame they only use him for the ooc strips in the editorial section now. :/

Jon Gray! His art was most welcome at a time when Ron Lim handled a lot of the penciling duties. Yes, there were serviceable artists in Steven Butler and James Fry around that time, but that doesn't help much. Also, the writing…blah.

I agree, the writing was subpar, but we not only got more Dark Legion but Dr. Finitivus too! We also had the big Sonic/Sally breakup then, didn't we? yeah, right after the Tommy turtle arc.
God, this is making me feel nostalgic.

"Line of Succession" was an arc I simply hated. In fact, when I read it the plot for the first time, Ken Penders succeeded in actually making me hate Sally, although fortunately that was only temporary. Here you have a character who is equal parts intelligent and athletic, and yet Sally's nothing but a victim in this one.
I finally understood the Sonic/Sally breakup once I gained a little more knowledge into what was going on at the time: Sally had feared Sonic dead when he was actually in space, and on the first mission back she nearly lost him again. That, coupled with her having to take on the burden of fulfilling her duty as princess, drove her over the edge.

Out of the arcs I enjoy is the "Iron Dominion" saga. You see, I came in late to the comics, (around #162), and I didn't understand the "Darkest Storm" saga all too well. I didn't know who the heck was Mogul's intentions were and such and I often found myself lost at times. However, when the Iron Dominion saga came around, I began to understand the situation of things and I actually enjoyed it.
I especially enjoyed the "Journey to the East" saga in the Sonic Universe series. The indepth of the Four Clans was epic, especially that we know that Constant Vigil is actually Espio's mother, which spins off to the point on who the Mobius is Espio's father and did he get killed or something?
Since then, I looked back at the recent comics to see what I missed to catch up. Nowadays, I understand more of the comics.

The Iron Dominion saga was very well written, I agree. You came in at possibly the best time, actually. They've been doing SO MUCH worldbuilding it's almost insane and the comic as a whole has only improved because of it. Are you following the Mercia story with the Chaotix? Bow Sparrow is quickly rising to the top of my list of favorite characters.
Also "Friar Buck"
I lol'd.

Any thoughts on the current issue (#244)? It's unfortunate Ian's vision for this arc was destroyed over a lawsuit. Yes, we get to see Thrash again, and I like the bit of echidna history concerning the Tasmanian Devils, but that was just an awkward transition…

I've yet to read it, but I already know I'm going to hate it. I'm actually really pissed at Penders for letting his delusions of Grandeur get in the way of what was (to me) one of the more interesting points in Archie Sonic's history. The Echidnas and their family drama was always something I loved reading about and seeing it all get tossed aside because the idiot thinks he can actually market the story WITHOUT Sonic or Archie is really sad to me.
I'm not going to buy "Julie-Su's Story." Julie-Su is a supporting character for Knuckles. That's it. That's what the character is and she was good at it.
Damn Penders.
