I have a question.
Do all plots have to follow the comics, or can our Sonic Freedom canon drift from Archie? So, is it loosely based or is it 100% based on Archie, no exceptions?

It's completely based on Archie, although I want to encourage plots that go outside the ones used in the comics.

Hey, June, what do you plan to do with Auto-Fiona? The way I see it we can either find a way to being her to Knothole, or have Tails travel someplace and find her.

I plan to have her join up with the Freedom Fighters. However, that might complicate things somewhat, considering she's one of Robotnik's bots. It might put a wrench in the Freedom Fighters' attempts to keep knothole hidden and I don't think it's dramatically appropriate for Robotnik to know Knothole's location just yet.

Perhaps, since she's deep undercover she can't tell him. Signals to Robotropolis coming from her would blow her cover and stuff. Plus it wasn't on her profile that she could so there's that.

She'd probably be deployed the next time the Freedom Fighters are in Robotropolis and help them out of a jam.

Speaking of Robotnik, how would you all feel about an Endgame-styled battle between Sonic and Robotnik? Perhaps have him come dangerously close to figuring things out, when all of a sudden, Sonic stops him.

Let's keep building a pile of plots so we don't get stuck for them later on.

Rather than having Sonic thrown into space for about a year, I'd like a sort of interplanetary tour where the Freedom Fighters visit other alien races. Whether the Xorda come into play or not is up to us.

Note that while interplanetary travel is common, the other planets have avoided Mobius because the Xorda are basically breathing down their necks.

Are the Black Arms going to play a more prominent role like they did in "Shadow The Hedgehog"? I'd like to see some of the Freedom Fighters kick Black Arms butts and I've always had this story for "Shadow The Hedgehog 2" where Shadow teamed up with Fang!

Another question - To start a RolePlay, do we just... start? Or do we have to focus and carefully ask for permission?

You can just start a roleplay, although I recommend getting a plot together and discussing with others what you want to do. No need to ask for permission!

Concerning the Black Arms, we can do that some other time in the roleplay, sure. Also, Gata, if you can read this, mind explaining the Special Zone idea you had to everyone else, considering the new players who have joined since you last mentioned it?

Speaking of meddlesome aliens, can we not do the gene bomb/Mobius Is Actually Earth thing? It just raises too many questions and came entirely out of left field.

I'd like to disagree with you, June. I've always found the gene bomb explanation to be VERY interesting, and one of the best Mobian Origin stories around. While the comic itself DID just plop it in our laps and has yet to really expand upon it, it shouldn't be ignored simply because of the questions it raises. We're here to rewrite the canon from a set point- we can fill in the holes as we go.

Also I'm pretty sure we're only allowed to rewrite things from issue 17 on- technically the beginning of the planet happened long before that point so...

EDIT: Just saw that Gator asked me a question directly. That's what I get for skimming lol.

Gator previously mentioned his desire to establish the 7 Chaos emeralds fairly early, unlike the comic which had neverending green emeralds freaking everywhere until ADAM initiated the Gathering only after, what, 200 issues? Incomic, the Deity "Faust" then used the 7 fused Emeralds to transform the Zone of Silence into the "Special Zone"

Hear me out on this one.

If Robotnik knew that there were other Chaos emeralds throughout the galaxy, he'd most definately want them, so GETTING them would become high on his to-do list. Likewise, the FF need to find a way to get the King out of the Zone of Silence. A burst of energy from every Chaos Emerald in existence being slammed together would more than do the trick. This not only solves the problem of saving the King, it also allows us to logically have the Gathering happen really early on.

So, to recap

1. Buttnik wants Emeralds, starts the Gathering
2. FF don't want him to HAVE Emeralds, tries to stop Gathering
3. FF realize, "Hey this could go in our favor" but still don't want Robotnik to have Emeralds. Sides are taken.
4. Gathering happens, either with Robotnik or FF coming out on top
5. King is saved (?)
6. Faust is a Panda God, does shit with the Emeralds and Zone of Silence, now with 90% more newly ripped asshole.

Any objections?

Regarding the gene bombs, June, what sort of questions do you believe it will raise? We could try to fill in those questions if possible.

Ok so I had ANOTHER idea sort of coming off of the Gathering idea which no one has commented on yet, leaving me a very unhappy Gata. D;

First a little backstory that I'm sure you all already know. When the Xorda dropped the Gene bomb meant to decimate human life, it did quite a bit more than that. The resulting energies not only evolved the Animal Kingdom rapidly into what we know now as the Modern Mobian, it also devolved any unprotected humans into the Overlander Race and energized underground Beryl deposits that eventually formed the Green Chaos emeralds.

Hear me out on this one.

In theory, if a small group of humans hid deep underground in an attempt to save themselves as opposed to hiding behind a bunch of sciency shields, then they would still be effected by the Gene bomb as did the Overlanders, only at a much slower rate and over an extended period of time, as the radiation would first have to seep underground to reach them.

Likewise, as the bomb changed beryl deposits into the green emeralds, these theoretical people would also have extended exposure to emerald energies, being underground with said emeralds for generations.

In theory, if the result of generations of Emerald-bathed humans were to exist, they would exhibit strong genetic ties to the Chaos Force, similar to the results of the Echidna experiments on Knuckles, only to a much greater extent. One could further this theory by suggesting that since Rings are the natural byproduct of Chaos Emeralds, any society these people would create would heavily rely on the use of Rings for day to day life.

Are you following me with all this cause I know it's kind of a doozy dependant on a number of "If's"

My idea for the aforementioned "Gathering" plot is dependant on Robotnik discovering that there are a BUNCH of Chaos Emeralds out among the stars, but as we're not planning on having ADAM show up any time soon, nor are we throwing Sonic out into space, we needed a way for Robotnik to get that information. If a member of these Emerald-connected Ring-reliant people were to venture to the surface, or the remains of their now dead civilations were to be found, then they would be the PERFECT vessel for us to introduce the concepts needed for the Gathering plot into the RP.

Not to mention one could go a step further and use this character as a means to tell Sonic "Ohey, going Super is a thing, wink wink"

Of course, doing so would be a MASSIVE change to the Archie Canon. While all of the elements required for such a race to exist is already THERE, having even one of these kinds of people would be a gamechanger for the face of the rp if used incorrectly. So I submit my concept to you, my fellow rpers for review before I even consider crafting a character based upon it.

And don't just ignore this like the previous Gathering plot idea because really I can't go ahead with anything until someone else looks it over and points out it's obvious flaws. ;_;

I'm actually starting to get a bit miffed. No one has anything to say about my suggestions at all? Not even "wow that's a lot of text I didn't read" because even some acknowledgement that you people are alive would be enough for me.

That appears to be awfully sound idea. Even though we're trying to get things rolling along here, I'd love to see that sort of thing happen. Perhaps one of them could rival Knuckles with Chaos Force powers!

I'd like to discuss what we're going to do at this very moment. Right now Nicole just crashed out of nowhere and we need to figure out a way to advance this plot. So far we have some good ideas saved up, but not as far as the current point in time is concerned.

There was a map that Sally obtained from Julayla just before she died. I'd like to make this quest even more difficult, perhaps set them up to fail somehow. Any ideas how?
